The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the company is recalling most sizes of Mini-Wheats brown sugar and original frosted cereal sold nationwide.

The country's food safety watchdog says pieces of potentially harmful metal were found in the cereal.

The products have best-before dates between April 1 and Jul. 29, 2013.

The CFIA issued the recall with little fanfare on Oct. 7 and has not reported any injuries since.

Augh...... it is hard to remember that shopping is not to be emotional!~

I've been at two different WalMarts and I have yet to see any. I'm wondering if it's because they are all sold out, but I checked all the labels in the trial-size section and there was no spot for them.

This all might be common knowledge, but I'm new to couponing and almost NEVER run into a situation where I need to request one.

I think what gets me is I went for a "staple" product (rice)....if you meat heads can't keep your stock up you should offer rain checks.

The move makes Canada's biggest grocer the first in the country to take such wide-spread action on the issue.

"With an increased focus on health and wellness, we take our role in empowering customers to make healthier choices and lead healthier lifestyles very seriously and one of the best places to start is by making sure that our own portfolio of products is the best that it can be," says Gordon.

PC products that will change include the Blue Menu, Organics and Green lines. The company's No Name brand will not be affected.

I am going to be moving to Quebec City this summer and am looking for anyone who might be able to "teach" me the in's and out's of Quebec couponing. I am quite proficient in couponing and PM'ing here in Ontario.

Maybe all I am looking for is terminology in French, I really dont know how different it is, I do know alot of the pharma coupons are MIR's

In Canada, the cashiers enter them manually, and that's because the POS machines are not "set up" to read the coupons. As a result, the process is incredibly inefficient and time consuming by comparison.

My question is, why the heck don't we make the switch? I realize that Canada has a smaller population than the US, and we also have a proportionately smaller couponing population, but seriously? It's not like US ALWAYS had their systems like now -- surely at some point they had to upgrade as well.

Do you think we're ever going to get to the point that we will have our coupons scanned? Do you think that Target's impending arrival into Canada is going to make a difference (we didn't see one when Walmart did!)?]]>
