Stockpile Dreamland!

Things have been quite slow in Coupon Land. Or maybe that is just what I’ve been telling myself to curb my spending? Whatever the case may be, I’ve shifted my focus in the last few weeks and sort of gone from being a stockpiling maniac to an organizing maniac. I’ve been straightening out cans, labeling items, dusting my shelves, rotating my frozen goods, making inventory lists, meal plans, etc, etc, etc. Another thing I’ve been doing a lot of is dreaming. Sure, I have a decent stockpile area and I seem to be well organized, but there are things I wish I had (rolling can storage) and there are things I would absolutely die for (a second freezer). I’ve been able to up-cycle some old things around here and put them to good use (pegboard) and I’ve found some really great ideas online that I may eventually get around to using. I figure with a little imagination, a little thrift store shopping and a lot of creativity, I could put together a beautiful stockpile room that would be every couponers dream!

If I had unlimited space and money?

I'd have a workspace like this. Whiteboard and calendar for writing down specific sales, recycle walks, coupon meets. Little pouches for stamps, envelopes, scissors, iphone, paperclips and other accessories. Magazine slots for coupon booklets like the BrandSaver as well as the weekly flyers. An amazing desk with deep drawers for storing my coupon folders.


I want a storage rack like this for my canned goods. I imagine sorting them by expiry date and having the next one in line to be used up just rolling down into place!


This one would be a major dream...A huge room dedicated solely to the stockpile, with floor-to-ceiling shelving and a big island in the centre to use as a couponing work station. OMG.

Holy crap, those pictures are amazing!

I just recently moved my stockpile into my laundry room, with one plastic shelving unit and one Billy bookcase from Ikea. Oh, and a lot of bins from the dollar store. Nothing fancy, but I have reclaimed my linen closet. It's a start!

I definitely need a work area. Receipts and MIR forms get tossed around and I'll probably start losing stuff. My ideal workspace would be a desk with many different baskets and bins. I'd also need a computer though so I could look stuff up as need be to plan my shopping trips. I'd also need a forcefield system to keep my children at bay. I have stuff shoved everywhere and it's a real mess.

Stockpile-wise, it's not too bad. Everything is pretty much organized in one basement storage room. I will have to stay on top of that though as the stockpile expands.
